In the late 90s, the skateboard market was dominated by large brands run by managers who were often light years away from the philosophy of the nascent street skate scene. In those years, Mark Gonzales, a world-renowned skater and considered by many to be one of the inventors of modern street skating, was under contract with Vision Skateboards, one of the most important brands of the time.
Convinced by Steve Rocco, a former pro freestyler looking for new entrepreneurial challenges, Mark left Vision and joined Steve to found a new company. As a gesture of derision and in clear opposition to Vision, the brand was named Blind. This marked the beginning of a true revolution that, within a few years, would change the history of skateboarding forever.
Almost 30 years later, Blind Skateboards is more alive than ever. Production and distribution are managed by a skater-operated company (Dwindle), and the team remains among the strongest in the world, with international caliber riders such as TJ Rogers, Cody McEntire, Sewa Kroetkov, Kevin Romar, and Yuto Horigome.
